For anyone who wants to follow along: policy and standards folks, payers, researchers, and the curious.

Background

SMART Health Check-in lets a patient answer a clinic's check-in questions from a health app of their choice that already has their records, choosing what to share. It's built on the Digital Credentials API that current browsers and phones support, and on FHIR, the health data standard. This connectathon is the first time independent clinic systems and health apps try it together, alongside patients and clinic staff.

Get started

  1. Try it yourself: the patient demos take about 15 minutes on any phone or computer.
  2. Read how it works: Request and response covers what a clinic asks for and what comes back. Security and timeouts covers what the signatures and encryption do and don't prove.
  3. Read the spec: SMART Health Check-in 1.0 is the draft specification being tested.
  4. See who's taking part: the Participant directory lists the clinic systems and wallets, and Results collects formal test runs.
  5. Share what you found from the observer track on the Share your experience page (details below).
